Understanding Reiki and Spiritual Healing

For those new to these traditions, Reiki is a Japanese technique focused on stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us. A spiritual healer & reiki practitioner works as a conduit for this energy, using gentle touch or near-body placements to help clear energetic blockages. This practice is entirely benevolent and cooperative; it does not involve manipulation or fear-based ideologies. Instead, it treats the individual as a whole—encompassing body, emotion, mind, and spirit—to create a feeling of peace and security. Spiritual healing in this context is a supportive practice intended to empower the individual’s own natural recovery processes.
