Understanding Reiki and Spiritual Healing

For those new to these concepts, a spiritual healer & reiki practitioner focuses on the energetic well-being of the individual. Reiki is a Japanese technique developed in the early 20th century, based on the principle of "life force energy." Practitioners use gentle, non-invasive touch—or work slightly above the body—to promote relaxation and reduce stress. In the context of spiritual healing, the practice is not about religious dogma but rather about fostering a harmonious connection between the mind, body, and spirit. It is a complementary practice designed to support the body’s natural ability to find balance. At Connected to self, these traditions are honored with a focus on trauma-informed care, ensuring that every session is conducted with the utmost respect for the client’s boundaries and personal history.
