Understanding Reiki and Spiritual Healing
For those new to the concept, a spiritual healer & reiki practitioner works with the subtle energy systems of the body to promote harmony and stress reduction. Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.
The "Usui" in the business name refers to Mikao Usui, the founder of the Reiki system. This tradition is characterized by a cooperative and non-invasive approach. During a session, the practitioner acts as a conduit for energy, typically using light touch or placing hands just above the body. This practice is entirely benevolent and is intended to complement, not replace, traditional health care. It is rooted in the principles of mindfulness, gratitude, and peace, providing a space for the body’s natural relaxation response to take over.
