Understanding the New Thought Tradition

For those unfamiliar with the "Temple & Spiritual Center" category, the New Thought tradition is a philosophical movement that originated in the 19th century. It is built on the premise that there is a creative power within the universe that individuals can learn to harmonize with through their thoughts and beliefs. This practice is entirely non-adversarial and focuses on the idea that spiritual laws can be applied to improve one’s health, relationships, and general well-being.

Practitioners of New Thought believe in the unity of all life and respect the wisdom found in various world religions and philosophies. It is not a fear-based practice; rather, it encourages individuals to look within to find their own connection to the divine. The tradition emphasizes that by changing one's internal state of consciousness, one can positively influence their external reality.
