Attunement of Mizuhanome

This course teaches a historically informed, practice-first pathway to attunement with Mizuhanome, the Japanese water kami associated with fertility, purification, and adaptive flow. Designed for intermediate practitioners with ritual and somatic experience, it presents concrete source-based attributes of Mizuhanome, safe ritual protocols, trauma-sensitive water rites, and generative practices to cultivate creativity and inner peace. Students learn misogi-style breath and movement methods adapted for contemporary needs, offering protocols for streams, wells, and domestic altars, and step-by-step procedures for ethical contracts and long-term maintenance of a relationship with Mizuhanome. Grounded in Shinto-inspired praxis and historical references rather than Western ceremonial systems or pop occultism, the course emphasizes reciprocity, consent, and practical somatic tools for emotional regulation. It includes guided purification sequences, improvisational ritual templates for symbolic waterwork and dream incubation, seasonal fertility cycles and intention-setting, and clear boundaries regarding medical and psychological care. Graduates will be able to perform safe attunement rites, integrate daily contemplative practices for emotional balance, and sustain an ongoing, reciprocal relationship with a water kami for creativity, adaptability, and generative support.
