Attunement of Shirayama-hime
This intermediate course trains experienced practitioners in a disciplined, Shinto-informed attunement to Shirayama-hime and allied mountain kami. Grounded in historical context and practical lineage methods, the course teaches repeatable purity (misogi) and harmony techniques, a precise energetic anatomy for practice, and relational protocols for working ethically with nature spirits. Students receive a clear ritual architecture: preparation, invocation, embodiment, and integration, with sensory, somatic, and environmental cleansing protocols suitable for daily maintenance and intensified practice. Exercises progress through measurable checkpoints and include tools for long-term equanimity and balanced spiritual conduct. All instruction is practical and sourced from documented Shinto practice, mountain ascetic (yamabushi) techniques, and contemporary nature-spirit training methods adapted for responsible urban and wilderness contexts. The teaching emphasizes reciprocal, benevolent relationships with kami as cooperative guides and teachers, clarifies boundarywork and consent protocols, and avoids syncretic ceremonial systems outside Shinto and nature-spirit frameworks. By course end, practitioners will hold an embodied attunement to purity and harmony that supports ethical, steady practice and service to place.
