Today, we delve into the mystical teachings of the Ars Paulina, Part 2, which is attributed to the Apostle Paul's vision of the Third Heaven. This section of the Lemegeton grimoire is a profound guide, describing the angels governing each degree of the zodiac. These celestial beings play significant roles, guiding and influencing individuals based on their birth chart and the present sky's configuration.
The zodiac comprises 360 degrees, and each degree is under the stewardship of a specific angel. For example, the first degree of Aries is governed by the angel Ael, associated with fiery and dynamic energies, while the angel Bariel oversees the second degree, bringing subtler influences. Knowing which angel rules at any given time allows you to align your actions and intentions with their celestial energies.
To determine which angel rules based on the ascendant at your birth, you need to calculate the degree rising on the eastern horizon at the moment of your birth, commonly known as the ascendant. This can be done through natal chart calculations using astrology software or by consulting an astrologer. Each degree's angelic influence can then be interpreted to understand the innate qualities and potential challenges you may encounter in life.
Alternatively, you may wish to identify the ruling angel based on the current sky configuration. This involves monitoring the zodiac's progression throughout the day to see which degree is rising. As the Earth's rotation unfolds, different degrees and their respective angels come into prominence, offering specific energies for magical workings or personal development.
Understanding the angels of the zodiac involves more than simply knowing their names. Each angel carries a unique essence that can be attuned to through meditation and ritual. By engaging with these celestial guides, one can harness their qualities for personal growth or in aiding others in their spiritual path.
