Attunement of Watatsumi

Attunement of Watatsumi

This course teaches a disciplined, historically anchored path to watatsumi attunement: a working relationship with oceanic kami-energy as recorded in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, supported by classical norito and maritime ritual precedents. It is designed for intermediate practitioners who already use energy-work, ritual practice, or depth-psychological methods and seek concrete, repeatable protocols to strengthen intuition, regulate affect, and increase adaptive flexibility. The curriculum combines Shinto-inspired source material with somatic regulation, rhythm-based breath protocols, stance and movement adapted to coastal practice, and structured trance techniques for cooperative guidance from oceanic presences. All work is taught within an ethical framework that emphasizes consent, cultural respect, and responsible use of a kami-derived model—no Solomonic, Goetic, or Judeo-Christian frameworks are used. Students receive step-by-step ritual architecture, diving-breath practices, somatic grounding for emotional integration, dreamwork templates for depth retrieval, and measurable assessment markers to track attunement. The course provides journaling templates, supervised practice guidelines, and integration plans so results are practical, verifiable, and sustainable. Watatsumi and associated sea-spirits are taught as cooperative, intelligent guides: initiators of perceptual skill and adaptive cognition rather than sources of fear. The course privileges scholarship (classical texts and norito practices), precise somatic technique, and ethical stewardship to ensure effective, respectful, and repeatable outcomes.
