Nervous System Healing Through Spiritual Practices
This course provides a structured, intermediate-level program that pairs established autonomic regulation methods with grounded spiritual practices to stabilize chronic stress and overwhelm. Rooted in evidence-informed models (polyvagal, relaxation response, autonomic mapping) and practical lineage techniques (ritual anchoring, contemplative prayer, ally practice in historical grimoires reframed ethically), the curriculum emphasizes safe, repeatable skills rather than dramatic catharsis or intensive trauma processing. Students learn paced-breathing protocols (resonance breathing, exhale emphasis, CO2-tolerance training within safe limits), grounding and orienting methods for downshifting sympathetic arousal, meditation approaches for stabilization (attention training, interoceptive noticing, open monitoring), and emotion-release techniques that use titration, pendulation, and completion cues to preserve containment. Practical ritual design teaches morning/evening anchors, transition rites, and brief micro-practices that scaffold resilience and sleep restoration sequences including pre-sleep regulation, light/caffeine timing, and progressive relaxation. Module 3 introduces ethically framed spirit relationships: cooperative, benevolent allies as mnemonic and relational supports for regulation, drawn from pragmatic elements of grimoire practice and contemplative traditions — presented as adjuncts to, not replacements for, self-regulation skills. Integration emphasizes relapse prevention: trigger plans, micro-practices, measurement and journaling, and how to build a durable daily rhythm. This course is training in skill acquisition, not clinical treatment; participants with serious medical or psychiatric conditions should maintain their care team.
