In the rich tapestry of the Ars Almadel, part of the Lemegeton's fourth book, lies a substrate of mystical teachings. Among these, the crafting of the wax Almadel stands paramount for practitioners seeking the wisdom of the solar angels. Let me guide you through this process, a ritual act that connects terrestrial efforts to celestial understanding.
The core of the Almadel tradition revolves around creating a wax tablet, blessed and etched with mystical symbols. This tablet serves as a conduit for summoning angels associated with the Four Altitudes or Chora. Each Altitude corresponds to a season, whereby solar angels dispense their divine wisdom.
Embark first with the First Altitude, akin to the freshness of spring. Here, angels such as Alimiel, Gabriel, and Barachiel attend, illuminating the path with yellow or gold candles to harness this seasonal energy. As spring represents birth and renewal, so too do these angels offer new beginnings and enlightenment.
Moving into summer, the Second Altitude calls upon angels through red candles, symbols of vigor and action. This is a time of maturation and growth, and the angels of this season empower your will, paving ways through potential challenges with keen eyesight.
The Third Altitude represents autumn, where green candles guide one to the understanding delivered by autumnal angels. They bring balance and teach the art of harvest — not just gathering physical bounty but also harvesting wisdom and insights from life's journey.
Winter's Fourth Altitude finalizes the cycle, wrapped in the purity of white candles. Here, solitude reigns, offering opportunities for reflection and internal growth through its angels. Mastic and frankincense burn during rituals to purify, inviting angelic presence with their sacred smoke.
These angels, aligned with each season, impart crucial insights. They mirror solar cycles, teaching rhythm and harmony with the universe's natural order. This path yields not only mystical enlightenment but also practical guidance, leading practitioners to a profound understanding aligned with their life's purpose.
